Review of the Year 2008/2009
Key Performance Indicators 2008
Strength in Numbers
In 2008, we focused on engaging with and inspiring our public audiences. The numbers that follow speak for themselves: we have staged more high-quality events and established more partnerships than we could have hoped for. And the audience, in turn, has continued to grow.
As most of these key performance indicators for 2008 show, we’ve continued to build on the previous year’s achievements. We are aiming to do the same in 2009.

Membership
Our Aims
To increase access to the skill and expertise of our membership by engaging them with our Learning & Events programme. To maintain the cap on membership numbers whilst making more space available for highly qualified new members.
-
How We Performed
- We launched the BAFTA Mentoring initiative, allowing 30 BAFTA members to share their skills on media projects with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds
- We created a new category of Non-Voting membership. As a result, a small number of voting places became available, allowing us to accept a number of new members. We also invited prominent individuals from the industries to join the Academy, including recent BAFTA nominees and winners.
