Meet the Team: Jenny Bones,
Head of Commercial Events
Can films be screened before they have gone on general release?
The majority of films are possible to view before they go on general release. The only time this would not be possible would be when a film is released in the USA after the UK, or on the same day as the UK.
Are you able to offer screenings on weekends?
We can! The cinema can also be hired with one of our great entertaining spaces, and our in-house team can arrange drinks and catering by Anton Manganaro. On certain weekends of the year you can hire out the whole of 195, which is a wonderful way of incorporating a film into a special event like a Bar Mitzvah or even a wedding.
Could you offer a themed screening, with food and cocktails?
Yes! The Events Team love helping clients with ideas and inspiration for theming an event around the film. We have hosted some incredible events here, including a garden party in our new space that incorporated stunt men on zip-wires, huskies, snow and pyrotechnics! That was for The Bourne Legacy
and was a huge success. The post-screening reception was held in the David Lean Room and was transformed into a medical ward, which was a major scene in the film.
This year we are very excited about The Great Gatsby
release in May, as there is so much theming potential. We are already planning ideas around speakeasies and prohibition décor! For the kids, Oz The Great And Powerful
is going to be a great one for theming, and of course Iron Man 3
and The Hobbit
later in the year!
Can screenings be introduced by a critic or talent from the film?
Yes, we work with some amazing talent agencies that are able to help source the right speaker for the right environment, audience and film.
